Franchise and multi-location clubs in WodGuru

In WodGuru we increasingly work with clubs that operate in multiple locations or run as a network or franchise.

This setup works a bit differently than a single club — both from an organizational and system perspective!

In this article we explain:

  • what the network/franchise model in WodGuru looks like,
  • how club structure and access are organized,
  • which elements are shared and which remain independent,
  • and the most common limitations or misunderstandings.

Who is the franchise model in WodGuru for?

This setup works well if:

  • you run multiple clubs under the same brand,
  • you plan to expand and want better visibility of data across locations.

How does it work in practice?

In WodGuru, each location functions as a separate club in the system.

This means that each location has:

  • its own settings,
  • its own class schedule,
  • its own reception and club member management,
  • its own memberships, pricing and payments.

Within a franchise structure, clubs can have controlled visibility of club member profiles across locations within the same franchise.

How does it work?

A franchise club can see the profile of a club member who created their account in another club within the same franchise and:

  • book them for classes or the open gym (if their membership allows it),
  • but cannot edit their profile data - editing is only possible in the club where the account was originally created.

Memberships with access to franchise locations

When creating a membership, you can define which franchise locations it applies to:

  • Only this location - no access to other franchise clubs
  • All franchise locations - membership valid across the entire network
  • Selected franchise locations - membership valid only in specific clubs

You can also define CLASS ACCESS for the membership — the list will include classes from the locations selected earlier

The membership access range determines where a gym member can make bookings!

  • In the MEMBERSHIPS tab you can check which locations are included in the membership and what class access is available

Gym member visibility in the system

If a club member has an account in another club within the same franchise:

  • their profile will appear in the club member search,
  • it will be marked with a blue label “Franchise + club name”.

A franchise gym cannot edit the profile of a club member created in another club.

  • When opening the profile preview (three dots), you can see their membership, validity date and booking permissions.

The club can still book that club member for classes or the open gym - according to the permissions defined by their membership.

Gym member bookings in the app

If a gym member’s membership includes access to multiple locations:

  1. in the app they can use the booking filter to choose which club’s schedule they want to see,
  2. and book classes in the selected location themselves.

What’s next?

The network feature is currently in beta - which means we are still actively developing it

The franchise model in WodGuru is something we continue to observe and improve.

We collect feedback from clubs and analyze which solutions will bring the most value to users operating multiple locations!
